The Problem
In Nepal, finding blood donors and ambulances in emergencies was slow and unreliable, putting lives at risk.
What I Built
A community health app for Nepal featuring ambulance locator with one-tap calling, blood donor registration and matching, blood bank directory with live stock info, multilingual support (English/Nepali), and donation payments via eSeWa and Khalti.

Project Details
Blood Connect is a free community health app that addresses the critical shortage of blood donor matching infrastructure in Nepal. Built with Android (Kotlin), Firebase, and Google Maps API, the app connects donors with recipients in real time.
The app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging for instant notifications when blood of a matching type is requested nearby. Blood banks can update live stock levels through an admin interface, and users can navigate directly to any blood bank via Google Maps.
The Result
Completely free for users, the app has helped connect hundreds of blood donors with recipients across Nepal and is available as a free APK download.
